We’ve all got our favourite tunes.
If you’re training at the gym, running, just chilling with friends or that classic summer BBQ anthem.
However, according to a new study, what you listen to when you’re driving can have a HUGE impact on both your driving style and...your speed.
A recent study in China showed that drivers on a simulator changed lanes about 70 times an hour when listening to light music or none at all but they then doubled that lane switching when listening to faster rock to 140 times.
Plus, they actually ended up driving up to 10mph faster too.
Now, this was in a simulated environment but you know that there’s a tune out there that gets you going, one that you can’t help singing along to, maybe even one that gets you a little wound up.
Of course, there’s always a classic that chills you out and calms you down.
In case you;re wondering, the classic Green Day anthem ‘American Idiot’, which rips along at 189 beats per minute was dubbed the “most dangerous”.
Meanwhile, the old classic ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by Led Zeppelin was said to be the safest at 63 per minute.
So, the Road Angel team are intrigued. What’s your favourite track to drive to?
